PBA Local 401 Run Supports Vadell Foundation

By Press Release

CREST HAVEN – On Oct. 6, Cape May County PBA Local 401 held it’s second Back the Blue 5K.
According to a release, Local 401 represents the investigative staff of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and through events, such as this, support local charity efforts throughout Cape May and Atlantic counties. This year, Local 401 supported The Josh Vadell Foundation. The foundation was created by Josh and Laura Vadell to provide financial support to New Jersey police officers critically injured in the line of duty, as well as support to families of the greater community who may be experiencing trauma or loss.
The vision of the foundation is to provide both emotional and financial support to families and the community in their greatest time of need.
The Vadells have a bit of experience regarding the type of support needed from a critical line of duty injury, as a result of a Sept. 3, 2016, incident in which Josh, at the time an Atlantic City Police Department Patrolman was shot in the head responding to an armed robbery near Caesar’s Casino parking garage.
Local 401 chose the Vadell Foundation as its beneficiary for their race this year. According to Local 401 President and State Delegate Joe Berg, “There wasn’t a finer organization to support.”
Back the Blue 5K helps local law enforcement agencies and support groups across the United States in hosting fundraisers to benefit law enforcement based charities and organizations.
“Seeing that our community can come together in these troubling times proves just how strong we are.” Berg stated, “With the assistance of Back the Blue 5K and the support of local businesses, organizations and the overall community, we have been able to greatly benefit charities that assist law enforcement officers and their families during their greatest time of need.”
Berg expressed gratitude to the following agencies and groups for their assistance:
The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Cape May County Public Safety Training Center, New Jersey State Police, Atlantic City Police Department.
The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Cape May County Herald, Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
Middle Township Police Department, Ocean City Police Department, Middle Township Ambulance Corps, Cape May County Sheriff’s Department, and many other agencies along with the overall public and all of the businesses who sponsored this event.
Anyone interested in supporting the Josh Vadell Foundation or seeking information about Cape May County PBA Local 401 is encouraged to contact President/State Delegate Joe Berg at pbalocal401@gmail.com.
