Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group to Hear From Guest Presenter May 24

COURT HOUSE — Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will meet on Tues., May 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program covers a variety of topics for Grandparents including: how to adjust to your new role, taking care of you, reducing stress in your life, personal relationship changes, family relationships, challenges with your adult child, your troubled grandchild, love and limits, and forgiveness. This month there will be a special guest presenter. Stephanie Langley, Director of Outpatient and Recovery at Cape Counseling Services will be discussing the topic of Addiction and Families with our grandparents.
Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren. A light supper for the grandparents and grandchildren begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. and the program will follow at 6 p.m. There is no charge for this program, however, advanced registration is required. Also, FCHS is hosting Coffee Fridays for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren this month on Fri., May 20 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey 08210.
Grandparents are invited to come learn about some of the resources and support available to them and also share their thoughts and concerns. Please RSVP by calling 465-5115, ext. 609.
