Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group Announces Nov. Meeting

COURT HOUSE – The next meeting of Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences’ Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will be held on Wed., Nov. 15, 2017. The free information session will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey. The building is handicap accessible.
November’s program will focus on answering questions that children may have like Why aren’t my parents raising me. Marilou Rochford, FCHS Educator said, “We will discuss the importance of telling grandchildren the truth in a way that they can understand, and how to help them manage their emotions.” Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren. A light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the program will follow at 6 p.m. There is no charge for this program, however, advanced registration is required. The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group meets the third Wednesday of every month, except for the months of June and July when there are no scheduled meetings.
Support for this program is provided by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
