Cape May County Police and Fire Emerald Society Holds Chicken Plunge

Group prepares to enter the ocean on North Wildwood's 16th Avenue beach.

NORTH WILDWOOD – The Cape May County Police and Fire Emerald Society held its first Chicken Plunge Aug. 18.
The event, which the organization expects to become an annual one, is for those too chicken to plunge into the ocean in February.
Approximately 80 “chickens” attended the event held at 16th Avenue beach.
