The USO Show Troupe from New York City will take center stage at this year’s Coast Guard Community Festival on Saturday, May 5 at 1:30 p.m.
The four-member troupe will perform ‘American Heartland,’ a sentimental journey of American favorites that will put a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Selections include big band hits of the 1940s all the way through the top country and pop hits on the radio today.
The USO Show Troupe is part of an American tradition that goes back over 75 years to its humble beginnings in the muddy camp shows of the South Pacific. Today, the pride and passion that fueled that early music lives on through the USO Show Troupe.
With over 350 live annual performances, the Troupe entertains approximately 600,000 service members and over 1.5 million members of the public around the world every year. The Troupe features a roster of 64 professional entertainers hailing from Broadway, Off-Broadway, television and film, and has a broad musical repertoire ranging from the standards of the 1940s through today’s hit country and rock.
