Volunteer, Sponsorship and Vendor Opportunities Available
RIO GRANDE – The Cape May County Coast Guard Foundation will be hosting the third annual Coast Guard Community Festival from May 5 to May 7, celebrating Cape May County’s designation as a Coast Guard Community.
The weekend festivities will commence on Friday evening, May 5 with the U.S. Coast Guard Ball.
“2017 is an exceptional year for the Coast Guard in Cape May County due to the placement of two Fast Response Cutters (FRCs) that are now homeported at Training Center Cape May,” said Nina Ranalli, Executive Director of the Cape May County Coast Guard Community Foundation. “We are thrilled that those attending the Coast Guard Community Festival on Saturday, May 6 will have the opportunity to tour and learn more about one of these 154-foot ships.” Other activities that day to include live entertainment, harbor tours, search and rescue demonstrations, kids activities, vendors, exhibits and more.
The three-day festival will conclude on Sunday, May 7 with activities and a breakfast at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal. For more information on festival hours, pricing and activities, please visit www.CoastGuardCommunity.org.
The Cape May County Coast Guard Community Festival is still seeking sponsors, vendors and volunteers for the upcoming festival. “This is a community designation and we wish to have broad participation from a variety of residents and businesses,” commented Foundation Chairman and Cape May County Freeholder Will Morey. “Whatever skills or experience you may bring to the ‘table,’ there is a way for you to help.”
This event will draw an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 visitors throughout the weekend with sponsorships starting as low as $150. In-kind sponsorships are also available. For more information on sponsorship opportunities and how to apply, visit coastguardcommunity.org/sponsor.
