Twenty Four Swine Flu Cases at Coast Guard Training Center

CAPE MAY — The U.S. Coast Guard Training Center here reports 24 confirmed cases of Swine Flu (H1N1 Virus) as of Aug. 16.
According to spokesperson Chief Warrant Office Veronica Bandrowsky, a total of 96 Coast Guard personnel have been tested for Swine Flu with 89 test results received with seven test results pending and 24 confirmed H1N1 Virus results.
Of those who tested positive, 20 were recruits and have returned to duty. Four active duty personnel have recovered and returned to duty, said Bandrowsky.
Nine members are currently in the fever ward with four residing in the medical ward.
As of Aug. 11, Coast Guard Training Center Cape May had confirmed 19 cases of Swine Flu with all of the infected recovered and returned to duty. Two weeks ago, the training center had seven confirmed cases of Swine Flu, up from two cases, three weeks ago.
