For Coast Guard, Earth Day Meant Making It Clean

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — Coast Guard members and community volunteers linked for clean-up efforts for Earth Day here, Thur, April 21.
Coast Guard members along with community volunteers and civilian employees participated in Earth Day at Coast Guard Training Center Cape May by picking up trash throughout the base, base housing and planted trees along the sand dunes and shoreline, according to a release.
“We try to make the training center the best place to live and work in the Coast Guard,” said Capt. William Kelly, commanding officer of the training center. “To come together on a day like today, to make our community the best it could be; is a noble cause and the right thing to do. An event like today not only gives back to the community but brings us all together.”
