Coast Guard Rescues Two from Boat East of Sea Isle City

SEA ISLE CITY — Coast Guard rescued two people May 8 after the boat they were on began taking on water five miles east of Sea Isle City.

Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders received notification May 8 at approximately 4:20 p.m. that the 32-foot sailboat Island Time with two people aboard was taking on water. 

Coast Guard Station Cape May launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RBM) crew to assist. The coxswain of the 45-foot RBM deployed a crew member and a dewatering pump to assist with dewatering efforts. 

The 45-foot RBM crew towed the sailboat to Cape May.

No injuries were reported.
