ATLANTIC CITY — The Coast Guard medevaced a man Monday off a commercial vessel east of Atlantic City.
Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders were notified at approximately 1:53 p.m. Oct. 4 of a 50-year-old man aboard the commercial vessel Jamaica, homeported out of Brielle, New Jersey, who was reportedly experiencing seizure like symptoms.
A Coast Guard 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew from Station Atlantic City launched at approximately 2:04 p.m. and arrived on scene at approximately 2:40 p.m.
The crew medevaced and transferred the man back to Station Atlantic City, where EMS personnel took him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for further medical attention.
“The crew did a great job passing his medical information to us so we could conduct the medevac quickly ” said Petty Officer 2nd Class Charles Vogel, the coxswain of the MLB crew. “We want to remind mariners to carry their medical prescriptions with them before leaving the dock to help ensure a safe day at sea.”
