TOWNSEND INLET– The Coast Guard assisted three people two miles north of Townsend Inlet Sunday.
The Coast Guard received a call at 11:35 a.m. on VHF channel 16 from a crewmember aboard the Carol S reporting it was taking on water. A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May, N.J., arrived on scene and provided a dewatering pump to assist with controlling the flooding.
The Carol S was escorted, with Coast Guard personnel aboard, by the rescue boat crew to Minmar Marine in Sea Isle City, N.J., where it is safely moored.
