Carmela, Tom and Kit for Township Council
It’s time for a change in Lower Township, because for too long decisions affecting our community have been made with little input from the residents. We have visited thousands of residents, and many have told us that they don’t believe that the current council awards jobs, contracts and permits fairly. We promise to change that.
We pledge to listen to your concerns about issues that face our community, and we will work with all elected and appointed officials to provide quality services that don’t drain your family’s finances. Many residents have also told us that fiscal responsibility and careful management are needed in Lower Township.
We are committed to ensuring that the township remains an affordable place to live and work. Projects such as the proposed Aquatic Center should not proceed without careful scrutiny of operating costs.
We believe that we have the leadership skills and the experience to serve on our council. Here’s some information about our backgrounds to inform your decision.
Carmela Pallotta: I am running for councilwoman in Ward 1 because I want to use my experience as a teacher, administrator and artist to make our community better. There is a wealth of talent in Lower Township. I believe that we need to find more ways to encourage and develop talent so that our youth remain here and become productive citizens. I will work to ensure that we offer programs and services that provide for the health and education of all residents.
Tom Poussart: As a councilman for Ward 2, I’ll work to make sure our taxes are kept as low as possible, but maintain essential services. With my extensive management and troubleshooting skills along with my contract and budget experience at the Federal Aviation Administration, I know I can deliver a more efficient government to residents.
Kit Marlowe: I am a candidate for councilman in Ward 3 because we need leadership that will listen to the concerns of all residents and respond in effective and efficient ways to serve them. Too many local decisions are made “behind closed doors.” Too often bids have been awarded without inviting competition. Our local environment needs careful stewardship and this is one of my priorities. My experience as a safety manager for a civil engineering company, where I specialized in preparing water and wastewater utilities for emergencies, proves that I can provide leadership to our township in environmental concerns.
Please VOTE on Nov. 6 and encourage your friends and neighbors to vote. Local elections directly affect your family and your pocketbook. It is time for responsible and responsive government in Lower Township. It is time for a change.

Cape May – The number one reason I didn’t vote for Donald Trump was January 6th and I found it incredibly sad that so many Americans turned their back on what happened that day when voting. I respect that the…
