Plungers will head into the surf Aug. 1 in the 1st Chik’n Plunge & Fest, a family friendly group ocean Plunge and daylong festival to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey. The plunge will be held at The Wildwoods Convention Center beach; the festival is across the street at Fox Park.
The Chik’n Plunge was created for anyone too chicken to take a plunge in the middle of the winter.
The festival starts at 3 p.m., with plungers taking the dip at 5 p.m. Festivities continue until 10 p.m.
