CAPE MAY – The Center for Community Arts announces the Shore Grand Slam on Sun., April 22, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Cape May Stage’s Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Lafayette and Bank Streets in Cape May. Winners of the Storytelling, Poetry Slams and Bull Slams from the Winter Slam Series will compete for the grand prize.
The Bull Slam was new to the Winter Shore Slams this year. With the Bull Slam, stories can be true, partially true or completely untrue. You win the bull slam by being the best at putting one over. The theme for this event is “When ‘Stuff’ Hits the Fan.”
Monthly winners in the storytelling category were: Barbara Sobel, Emily Dempsey, Suzanne Logeman, Mary Stewart and Chase Jackson. Audience favorites were Suzanne Logeman and Cat Cronin
Monthly winners in the Poetry category were: Scott Gregg, Scott Griffin, Jill Lance, and Kayla Gegan. The audience favorites were Matt Lestingi and Shannon Montanez.
The Bull Slam Winners were Nikhe Jaudon, Howard Dotterweich, John Alvarez, Jill Lance and Edgar Holmes.
An after party sponsored by the Lucky Bones Backwater Grille will be held immediately following the event. Come on out to the newly renovated Cape May Stage’s Robert Shackelton Playhouse. This is a must see event.
