Weddings & Special Events Guide: Devin and TJ

By Ashley Love

How they met: Devin and TJ met in the summer of 2011. Devin was bartending at The Deck in Wildwood and TJ worked just across the street at Weichert Realty. A close friend told TJ to check out the new bartender in town. The rest is history.
The proposal: After 8 months, Devin and TJ flew to Bermuda. TJ proposed at a restaurant near their hotel. Devin says, “He was so nervous he dropped the ring.”
Planning the wedding: Devin and TJ are both extremely detail oriented. It took 5 months before they found a place to hold their event. A local winery was the perfect place to host their nuptials. “As soon as we saw the venue we knew this is where we wanted to celebrate our love,” Devin says. The couple is self-described as foodies and wine lovers, so this was the most ideal place.
The actual wedding: Devin and TJ tied the knot on September 21. They said their “I do’s” at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Cape May Court House before heading to a local winery for their rustic reception.
What Devin remembers: “The whole day was a whirl wind,” Devin said. Her favorite moment was seeing her husband-to-be waiting for her at the end of the aisle. “I never thought I would find such a good man to spend the rest of my life with. Trust me, I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find him,” Devin said about her husband.
Some of Devin and TJ’s Key Ingredients:
Pre-Party: Westy’s Irish Pub
Cake: A Piece of Cake
