Rich and Sara Layton of North Cape May

By Press Release

Rich and Sara Layton of North Cape May were married September 9, 2009 at the Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene.
Sara recalls:
We both went to Lower Cape May Regional High School. Rich was a year ahead of me.
We hung out with different people, so we weren’t friends in high school. After we graduated, he was working at the NCM Mobil. I came in and asked for $2 of regular, but he put in $3 and paid the extra dollar for me.
We became friends after that. Our friendship lasted six years until he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Four years later he proposed.
We were married a year after that.
We saw each other before the ceremony at the Doctors Inn, Cape May Court House, where we took our formal shots.
Rich was standing alone in their backyard, and I walked back to him. My favorite moment was when I turned the corner and saw him standing there smiling at me. I loved seeing him standing there looking so handsome in his tuxedo. From that moment on, the whole day was a dream.
Cape May is our home. We were able to celebrate at places we went to often.
The rehearsal dinner was at CJs in North Cape May. We stayed the weekend and got ready at the Doctors Inn. They were nice enough to let us take our formal pictures in their beautiful back yard.
We had breakfast delivered to us at the hair salon by Avalon Bagels, and our caterer was the place where we went to breakfast buffet so many Sundays — Five Points Inn, Vineland.
After the reception in the West Cape May Banquet Hall, we went to Atkinson’s to continue the party. It was a wonderful day!
We are firm believers in supporting local businesses, and we didn’t break that belief with wedding planning.
