What we’ll remember…
Anna DiGregorio married Matthew Giordano on Sep. 28, 2013 on Cape May’s Trenton Avenue Beach. The reception was held at the Southern Mansion.
Anna recalls…
There are so many incredible memories of that day to choose from. But my absolute favorite has to be of the moment I walked onto the beach and saw Matthew standing with our pastor by the water. He looked so happy and handsome!
At the beach entrance, our guests were greeted by a sign that Matthew and I handcrafted. It consisted of four planks of wood, each reading its own message – “Giordano Wedding”, “Vows There” pointed one arrow, “Shoes Here” pointed another, and “Love Everywhere”. It took us 4+ hours and over two days to construct. We loved it!
Our bridal party was small – I had my two sisters and Matt had his best man and three groomsmen. My sisters wore taupe and the guys wore navy blue suits. After the ceremony, we all took photos on the beach and later at the Southern Mansion. Paul Loftland did an incredible job with our photos. We love them all.
My second favorite memory has to be our boat ride through town as the new Mr. and Mrs. Giordano. A prior CMBP guard who still competes in the rowing races throughout the summer, Matthew restored an old Van Sant lifeguard boat. We decorated it to look like our very own wedding chariot. We hitched it to a pick-up truck and had our very own post-wedding parade. We drove around town and through the Washington Street Mall. Everyone in town was peeping and yelling for us! We felt like celebrities.
The Southern Mansion did an excellent job catering our reception! Our butlered hors d’oeuvres included Crab Puffs, Scallops wrapped in Bacon, Clams Casino, Coconut Shrimp, and Honey Mango pulled Pork Crostini. We also had a Seared Tuna display, Anti-Pasta Display, Pasta Station with Penne Pasta with Fresh Roma Tomato and Basil Sauce & Baked Ravioli Alfredo. Delicious! Later, we sliced into our cake. It was a take on classic Victorian scrollwork with a nautical twist!
Though we are originally from Philadelphia, Matthew and I both LOVE Cape May and he has spent every summer here since he was a child. We wouldn’t have chosen any other town to get married in. We fell in love in Cape May therefore it holds a very special place in our hearts. We married our love for the beach and the Mansion together for our perfect wedding day! It was truly a dream come true.
