What we’ll remember…
Jacklynn Pollock married Paul Rossi on Sep. 14, 2013 in the sunset pavilion at The Cove Beach in Cape May. The reception was held following the ceremony at The Southern Mansion.

Paul and I are originally from Chalfont, PA, and met in high school through mutual friends. We always used to smile at each other in passing while walking in the hallway. We got engaged in Valley Forge National Park. We hiked a long trail and on the way out of the wooded area we were on top of a hill overlooking the park, it was beautiful. I am a big photo taker, so naturally I grabbed my phone to snap a quick shot of the breathtaking view. As I turned around to show him, Paul surprised me and asked me to marry him!
My absolute favorite memory from our wedding day was traveling in a horse and carriage to and from the wedding. I knew I wanted to be just like the brides I saw getting married on the beach when I was a little girl. They were princesses to me! As we traveled down Beach Avenue, a little girl standing on the side of the road with her mom said, “Look, mommy, a real princess!” This little girl and I waved to one another with big smiles on our faces.
After the ceremony at The Cove, Paul and I arrived at cocktail hour in the carriage. It was amazing how The Southern Mansion had it set up across the lawn. There were tables with chairs as well as high tables to stand at. There was also an outside bar which was great! We were so fortunate to have the Geno White Jazz Trio playing during almost all of our reception.
Paul and I had our first dance to “The Day Before You” by Rascal Flatts. We had also prepared a surprise dance to “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. It was hilarious! Our cake was so elegant yet delicious! It was four tiers with ivory as the main color. It had purple flowers spiraling down with some ivory seashells mixed in between the flowers.
I grew up spending summers in Cape May and always watched in awe as weddings were taking place. I also dreamed of going into the Weddings By The Sea house because I associated it with getting married. I knew I wanted to get married in Cape May since I was a little girl, and I am so grateful that my dream came true!
Cape May – The number one reason I didn’t vote for Donald Trump was January 6th and I found it incredibly sad that so many Americans turned their back on what happened that day when voting. I respect that the…
