WILDWOOD – The 2nd Annual Celebration of Heroes Festival will take place on Saturday, May 28 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Wildwoods Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and Fox Park, located on Ocean Avenue between Burk and Montgomery Avenues, directly across the street from the Wildwoods Convention Center.
The memorial wall is a half-size granite replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., and is the only permanent Vietnam War memorial in the Northeast, other than the original Memorial in Washington, D.C. A memorial flag ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m. at the Wildwoods Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to kick off the day’s festivities. The Celebration of Heroes Festival will begin at 10 a.m. in Fox Park, featuring craft and merchandise vendors, food vendors, memorabilia, and military displays all day long.
Free live entertainment will take place from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Fox Park Amphitheatre featuring The FM Band, Bandstand, Sheri Lynn, Purple Reign, Kenny Jeremiah (formerly of the Soul Survivors) and Sonny Turner of the Platters. Concluding the festival, at 8:30 p.m., is a Candlelight Vigil at the Wildwoods Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to honor all of the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
