COURT HOUSE — The Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro and the Cape May County Division of Culture & Heritage invite you to the closing reception for the Black History Month exhibit “The Legacy of George Henry White.” George Henry White was an educator, lawyer, congressman, entrepreneur, banker and the founder of Whitesboro. He was also a civil rights activist and an early member of the NAACP.
Feb. 28, the exhibit on George Henry White and the history of Whitesboro will close with a final showing of the documentary “George Henry White, an American Phoenix” at 7:00 p.m. at the Beesley House, 605 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, just south of the Cape May County Park and Zoo. The exhibit will also be on display from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The exhibit and documentary showing are free and open to the public. The Beesley House is handicapped accessible. The Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro and the Cape May County Division of Culture & Heritage Commission members encourage you to learn more about the important contributions of George Henry White.
