Steve Carroll, local #5 bricklayer and member of Lower Township Optimist Club, resets the front steps of the new Caring For Kids Family Center, 31 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House. Steve donated his time to ready the newly acquired Center for the Community Work-Day scheduled for Fri., April 27. April 27 also is the day designated as the county’s annual “Dress in Blue Day”, the day that parents, neighbors, schools and businesses are asked to display blue or wear blue clothing and ribbon, as a way of demonstrating our collective commitment of making this a “Blue Ribbon World for our Children”, here in Cape May County.
Coast Guard members from the Training Center in Cape May, will serve as the core participants in the April 27 Community Work-Day. Caring for Kids, however is seeking additional Community Partners to lend a hand with such things as yard-work, painting, decorating, shelving, repairs and renovations. All contributions will help support and expand Caring For Kids’ parenting education and services within the community, helping to provide responsive and concrete interventions, advocacy and personalized in-home parenting support for the many local children and families who reach out to the Center for a little help.
Community donations might be in the form of time, supplies, or finances for direct service… other assistance might be in the way of sponsoring a room or center renovation project, or in purchasing an engraved stone for the “Welcome Walk” in honor of a loved-one. Caring for Kids is a family strengthening non-profit organization. For information or to help, please call 609-675-5400 or 408-5220, or visit us at www.caringforkidsnj.com.
