Cape Tech Students Compete at NJ SkillsUSA Competition

The Cape May County Technical School District SkillsUSA students competed in the 2016 NJ SkillsUSA Championship held at the Gardent State Exhibit Center.

CREST HAVEN – Recently, students from the Cape May County Technical School District attended the 2016 New Jersey SkillsUSA Championship held at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset County and the Somerset County Technical School in Bridgewater, NJ. More than 1600 students competed in over 90 real-world skill and leadership contests.
The high school medal winners from the competition include:
Gold – Quiz Bowl – Louis Ciabatoni, Andrew Conforto, Sydney Haas, Edward Kane, Paul Popovick, and Ryan Richman
Silver – Audio/Radio in Entertainment Production – Maria Gonzalez and Kaitlin McCullen
Silver – Career Pathways Showcase: Law & Public Safety – Katherine Ferrante, Taylor Regalbuto, and Patrick Lynch
Silver – HVAC – Rachel Pickert
Bronze – Audio/Radio in Entertainment Production – Taylor Brooks and Connor Hunter
Bronze – Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl (Law and Public Safety) – Emmalisse Sanchez, Logan Laus, Kyle Rutherford, Tyler Williams, and Spencer Hughes
Bronze – HVAC – Jacob Mitchell.
The post-secondary winners include:
Gold – Cosmetology Post-Secondary – Felicia Williams
Bronze – Esthetics Postsecondary – Celena Tropea.
Mrs. Jackie Holland is the advisor and Mr. John Longinetti is the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Liaison.
