CAPE MAY – Innkeepers Patti Goyette and Kim Gilbert of the Mason Cottage, 623 Columbia Ave., are the winners of the Victorian Weekend Chocolate Championship Tour & Tasting with their winning dessert, Chocolate Decadence.
The semi-annual Chocolate Championship Tour & Tasting, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, is a popular event offered during Cape May’s Victorian Weekend and Spring Festival. Tourgoers taste, tour and vote for their favorite chocolate desserts.
The Mason Cottage was up against talented competitors consisting of The Carriage House Tearoom & Café at the Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., with a Flourless Chocolate Torte; The Henry Sawyer Inn, 722 Columbia Ave., offering Double Chocolate Raspberry Cookies; The Puffin, at 32 Jackson St., which made Fudgy Mint Cheesecake Bars; and the Summer Cottage Inn, at 613 Columbia Ave., offering Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
The next Chocolate Championship Tour & Tasting will be held during Cape May’s Spring Festival on Sat., April 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
