Cape May County Library Announces February Events for Children

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following activities for children during the month of February.
Kitchen Wizards
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 5-12, to Kitchen Wizards! The program will take place twice Feb. 10 and kids can register for one of the two sessions. The first session will take place at 10:30 a.m. and the second session will take place at 12:00 p.m. The programs will be held at the Main Branch of the Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Kitchen Wizards helps kids discover the magic of cooking, one bite at a time, through culinary enrichment programs. There will be plenty of samples to take home and copies of recipes provided. Recipes are not guaranteed to be nut-free.

Messy Masterpieces
The Cape May County Library invites toddlers, ages 2-5, and their caregivers to Messy Masterpieces to be held at 10:00 a.m. Feb. 15.  The programs will take place at the Lower Cape Branch library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Toddlers ages 2-5 are invited to explore their creativity with an hour-long art program, featuring stories and a sensory art project. Held at the Lower Cape branch of the Cape May County Library. Dress for mess!!

Art @ the Library in Cape May!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Cape May City Branch Library on Thursdays, Feb. 1, 8, and 22, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Cape May City Branch Library is located on 110 Ocean Street in Cape May.
Children ages six through ten are invited to enjoy Art @ the Library. Activities combine literature and art where children read a book and create a work of art using a variety of media and styles. Ages 6-10. Presented by the Community Center for the Arts. Call 609-884-7525 for more information.

Toddler Drive-In
The Cape May County Library invites children 2-5 years old and their caregivers to Toddler Drive-In, held at two of the library’s branches in February.
Decorate a box to make it your personal car and enjoy a short movie! Kids ages 2-5 and their families are invited. Movie snacks and decorating materials provided!

Homeschool Social
The Cape May County Library invites families to a Homeschool Social to be held at 11:00 a.m. Feb. 8. The Homeschool Social will take place at the Lower Branch of the library, located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
All homeschooling families are welcome to attend the library’s monthly social. Each month, we will explore a different subject area with stories and activities for the children. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with other families who homeschool and explore the library’s vast resources.

Creative Writing Club
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 8-12, to join Writers Rock which will take place at 6:00 p.m. Feb. 28. The program will take place at the Lower Branch of the library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.  
Writers and aspiring writers wanted! Writers Rock is a creative writing club for kids 8 – 12 years old that will meet once a month to participate in fun activities to hone our writing skills and inspire our creativity. Kids can register in the Children’s Room of the Lower Cape Library or by phone.

Together Breakfast
The Cape May County Library invites kids and teens to join our Together Breakfast program held at the Main Branch of the library at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 14. The Main Branch of the library is located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Join us for a fun Steven Universe party! 5th-8th graders can come decorate cookie Cat cookies, make Rose Quartz shields, and more!

Junior Engineers
The Cape May County Library invites kids 5-12 to join our Junior Engineer program held at the Main Branch of the library at 3:00 p.m. Feb. 9. The Main Branch of the library is located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Drop in to test your engineering skills in the STEAMengine Makerspace. Launch pom-poms, build a marble track, explore cool gadgets, and more! There will be new projects every month. Kids 5-12 are invited.

Toddler Time
The Cape May County Library invites children 2-3 years old and their caregivers to Toddler Time storytime held at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 6, 13, 20, and 27. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Children 2-3 years old and their caregivers are invited to Toddler Time! Toddler Time is a special storytime designed for 2 year olds and young 3 year olds who may not be ready for preschool storytime. You and your toddler will enjoy simple books, action rhymes, music, and songs that will help develop early literacy, language and social skills.

Family Dance Party
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 2-6, and their families to attend a Morning Dance Party to be held Feb. 23 at 11:00 a.m. The program will take place at the Wildwood Crest Branch of the library, located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Kids 2-6 and their families are invited to show off their cool dance moves and learn new ones! Dance the day away with Miss Susan from Miss Susan’s Entertainment!

LEGO Clubs
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5 to 12 years old, and their caregivers to attend our LEGO Clubs. LEGO Club will be held at four of the library’s branches throughout February.
In order to develop a theme for each meeting, we’ll read books to get ideas about what to construct and then bring out the LEGOs and build, build, build! Parents are encouraged to stay through the meetings and build with their kids.

The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to 2 years old, and their caregivers to Baby & Toddler Storytimes held at five of our locations in February.
Babies, birth to 2 years old, and their caregivers are invited to enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, instruments, and much more! Baby & Toddler Storytime is great for developing your baby’s language skills and social skills.

Mother Goose Time
The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to a year old, and their caregivers to Mother Goose Time held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Feb. 6, 13, 20,  and 27. The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Mother Goose Time is a special storytime designed for children who have just arrived in the family through 1 year old. You and your baby will listen to and participate in rhymes, songs, stories, and playing with toys. Enjoy activities for early development, motor skills, and socialization for both baby and adult.

Storytimes with Miss Anita
The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to four years old, and their caregivers to Storytime with Miss Anita held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, Feb. 7, 14, 21, and 28. The programs will take place at the Cape May City Branch of the library, located at Ocean & Hughes Streets.
Join Miss Anita for a special storytime at the Cape May Library! Children 0-4 and their families are invited to listen to some stories, sing, dance, and play. These activities are designed for children’s early social, mental, and physical development.

Preschool Storytimes
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 3 to 5 years, and their caregivers to attend Preschool Storytimes. The programs will take place at many of our Cape May County Library branches throughout February.   
Children, ages 3 to 5 years, are invited to enjoy stories, rhymes, crafts and lots of fun! Each storytime will include stories, songs & rhymes, and craft activities that reinforce children’s basic concepts, language skills, listening ability, and social skills.
