COURT HOUSE – From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 14, 2015, the Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services will be hosting the county’s annual Senior Jamboree.
This event, held each year in honor of Older American’s Month, will take place at the Avalon Community Center located at 30th & the Beach in Avalon, New Jersey. The doors will open promptly at 10 a.m.
This year, the theme is “A Salute to the Military.” There will be music, dancing and a free lunch served by staff and students from Wildwood Catholic High School.
Additionally, awards will be given to the male and female “Senior of the Year” and to the “Organization of the Year.”
The free event is open to all Cape May County residents, age 60 or over. Attendees are encouraged to dress as patriotic as possible. All veterans are welcome to bring any memorabilia to be proudly displayed in a special area during the event.
