‘Cape May County: A History of Diversity’ Is Topic for Archives Day Exhibits

COURT HOUSE — The 11th Annual Archives Day Exhibits, Presentation and Tour will be held on Oct. 21, 2015. The topic will be “Cape May County: A History of Diversity.” The festivities run from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Historic Courthouse located at 11 North Main Street.
Fulginiti said, “Cape May County is like a beautiful tapestry made from the contributions of the ethnic peoples who have come from around the globe to make this place their home. The County Clerk’s 11th Annual Archives Day Presentation and Exhibit is focused on the various groups who settled here–from the native Americans to the twenty-first century settlers, including the Africans, Europeans, Russians, Scandinavians and Latinos who lived, worked and are woven into the history and culture of Cape May County.”

9:00 – Gathering time, refreshments
9:30 – Caring For and Providing Access to Archival Collections, Diana L. Hevener, Deputy County Clerk, Archivist
10:00 – Welcome and Cape May County Historical Overview, Rita Marie Fulginiti, County Clerk and County Historian
10:30 – Program and Exhibit – Cape May County: A History of Diversity, Laurie Thomas, Public Records Clerk
11:15 – Questions and Answers followed by a tour of the County Clerk’s Archives
