Elise Heim, Cape May County Shore Blazers 4-H Club, was one of just a few teens who represented New Jersey at the 2019 Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) Conference. This conference, now in its 60th year, was held July 7-13 at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Citizenship Washington Focus is a 4-H leadership program for high school youth. Delegations from across the country attend this six-day program and attend workshops, congressional sessions, field trips and social events, giving them hands-on opportunities to learn and grow. They learn and practice skills that will make them better citizens and more successful individuals.
Elise has also been selected as a participant in the international Leadership for Life Program. Adopted from Ireland’s youth development program Foróige, the Leadership for Life Program is based on theories and principles of youth work, leadership development and leadership styles for teens in grades 9-11. The year-long program of workshops and community service activities culminates in the Foroige Leadership for Life Conference in Ireland in August. 4-H congratulates Elise for these amazing 4-H achievements.
