What is a Family Success Center and what does this mean? A Family Success Center is a neighborhood gathering place, where any community resident can go for support, information and services. As a Family Success Center, we will be able to add to and expand our already established core services, such as information & referral, parent education, parent-child activity groups and the food pantry. In addition, we will be working with families on developing “Family Success Plans”, which are entirely family- driven and completely voluntary. Family Success Plans are built upon a family’s unique strengths to help address any challenges the family identifies as a threat to their stability and success.
The Family Success Center of Cape May County is meant to be driven by the needs expressed by local residents of what they want their center to be. This is done in part through a Parent Advisory Board, made up of parents and other members of the community who will advise the center of what they identify as needs in the community. Everything the Family Success Center promotes is through a joint collaboration with families and community residents, so it is truly a unique gathering place to meet the specific needs of Cape May County residents.
