By Press Release

COURT HOUSE — On Feb. 28, 2017, Cape Christian Academy issued a challenge. A $10,000 gift was pledged to the school if it could be matched in a 24 hour period. When all was said and done, the small school raised $22,014. The school participated in RaiseUp Giving Day which is organized by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). ACSI is the world’s largest Christian school association. This event is a targeted 24-hour period during which Christian schools raise funds for their mission. The school’s total goal this day was to raise $25,000 in 24 hours in support of Christian education. Donations were given online, by mail and even through PayPal. The $10,000 pledge was made by two anonymous donors to the school.
Currently, 45% of the students who attend CCA receive financial aid assistance. The school feels no child should be denied the right to a Christian education because they cannot afford it. The school’s policy on financial aid is that it will provide up to 50% of the cost of tuition based on financial need. Initially, the school’s goal was to provide financial aid through donations; however, there is always a gap.
RaiseUp Giving Day provides an opportunity to fill that gap. Cape Christian Academy continues to grow and expand its mission and its reach throughout the community. The school gives thanks to all who participated in RaiseUp Giving Day and for the support of Christian education in Cape May County.
The school also took the opportunity to give back to the community. The Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade classes collected supplies for the Cape May County Animal Shelter. 2nd grade visited residents at Brookdale Senior Living. 3rd and 4th graders made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to be delivered to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. 5th through 8th grade students cleaned up at the Maranatha New Covenant Church. High School students also helped with clean-up activities.
