Cape Assist Logo

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – As an ongoing service, Cape Assist, in collaboration with Middle Township & Wildwood Municipal Courts, will offer a Public Advocate to families with substance abuse issues. A Public Advocate is trained in addiction and prevention services and provides information on treatment & local resources and referrals to community supports. There is no cost to meet with a Public Advocate. “Those suffering from addiction often commit crime to support their addiction. They may steal merchandise from stores, take jewelry and money from family and friends” explains Kim Mounce, Cape Assist Senior Coalition Coordinator. “The community leaders and law enforcement in Middle Township and Wildwood recognized that they must do something other than arrest if they truly wanted to help those suffering with addition, to reduce recidivism and ultimately reduce crime.”
Public Advocates are available at:
Middle Township Municipal Court
2 South Boyd Street Cape May Court House, NJ 08210
Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Wildwood Municipal Court
115 Davis Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260
Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
If you, a loved one or your family would like counseling or need information, a public advocate can provide counsel, inform and guide you through the process of seeking help for any substance abuse issue.
