WILDWOOD – In honor of National Alcohol Awareness Month, the Healthy Community Coalition of Cape Assist held their annual Public Service Announcement Contest which was open to students grades K-12 in Cape May County. Students had to write a 30-second radio PSA or film a 60-second video that focus on increasing awareness of the effects of alcohol misuse and abuse and the advantages of not drinking underage.
Winners were announced at Cape Assists Public Policy and Awards Breakfast April 26, where they received a special award, had the opportunity to meet and have their photo taken with local dignitaries and record their PSA spots.
Winning students attended Cape May Technical School, Margaret Mace School, Middle Township Middle School, Ocean City High School, Upper Township Middle School, Wildwood High School and Woodbine Elementary School.
Community Awards were also given to the Middle Township Police Department for their dedicated service to Cape May County residents and Cape Regional Medical Center for creating new partnerships that address addiction and strengthen the community.
