Your $1 Helps Herald Deliver More

RIO GRANDE – The Herald is now available for purchase inside select local stores. This new, paid in-store service supplements our traditional, free distribution throughout Cape May County. Every copy purchased helps fund additional Herald print circulation and supports the Herald’s journalism activities.

As it has for over 50 years, advertising supports most of our print newspaper circulation, but as our advertisers struggle in these COVID-challenged times, so does the Herald.

This means less income to support the significant cost of printing and delivering papers each week. Meanwhile, demand for the Herald is stronger than ever. Less money to serve more readers is a dilemma.

To address this dilemma, the Herald has partnered with Wawa and Acme to increase Herald availability at these stores throughout Cape May County. At Wawa stores, you can pick up your Herald copy – no charge – in the blue boxes outside each Wawa store, while supplies last. At Acme stores, you may find free Herald copies in the free publication rack, while supplies last. At these same Wawa and Acme stores, Herald copies will also be located on the newsstand racks inside the stores, with other paid publications; these copies require payment – just $1 per copy.

Paid or free, it’s the same great paper, but your paid copies will allow us to make more Heralds available to more people and to provide our community with the best possible news coverage. We appreciate your support.

As always, if you can’t find a print copy, you can read the Herald print editions online – anywhere, anytime – at

Thank you, loyal Herald readers – we are counting on your support! We also encourage you to support the great, local businesses that advertise each week in our pages and online.

We welcome your questions and feedback at; or, of course, there’s always Spout Off.
