Woodbine Municipal Airport Apron Expansion Phase 2 Bids Recieved

By Press Release

WOODBINE – Mayor William Pikolycky is pleased to announce that bids were received on July 7 for Phase 2 of the apron expansion project at Woodbine Municipal Airport.
Bidders were Arawack: $1,196,000, South State, $905,133.01; A. E. Stone, $977,114.58.
Woodbine Municipal Airport is continuing construction of a second phase of a new apron to better serve the aviation needs of the community. This is the final phase of a two-phase project. The first phase was financed with NJDOT funds
of $463,100. It includes tree clearing, utility demolition, utility relocation, pavement removal, and turf restoration. Construction on that phase is scheduled to begin the end of July.
The second phase is being funded with FAA funds and includes pavement of the apron, tie down installation, and pavement markings. Contract is expected to be awarded at the August 22 Woodbine Port Authority meeting.
The total project currently consists of a 120,000 square foot expansion of the existing aircraft apron and a new roadway located north of Henry DeCinque Boulevard, the airport’s main entrance roadway, totaling approximately $1.4 million. The airport is in need of additional apron area due to an increase in demand from prospective tenants. The road will provide access to existing facilities and connect to the new apron.
“This continues to place Woodbine in a positive economic position as to attracting additional businesses and receiving funding, which will improve our municipal airport and airport business park,” added Mayor Pikolycky.
