COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce 9th Annual Women In Business Conference will be held March 6 at the Flander’s Hotel in Ocean City. The conference focuses on The Power of Women in Leadership.
Speakers at the conference include Brenda Linnington, Director of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Institute for Marketplace Trust and BBB Military Line and is a graduate of West Point and a U.S. Army veteran. She will share her learned experience of the “musts” for effective leadership in the business world.
Attendees can choose to attend The Power of Business Etiquette lead by Dr. Joy Jones-Carmack, Associate Professor of Communications at Atlantic Cape Community College. Dr. Jones-Carmack will share her vast knowledge and experience on how to promote yourself and your business while maintaining the important principles of business etiquette in all aspects of multi-media communication tools. Other conference participants will attend The Power of Mentors presented by Christine Mari-Mazzola, Assistant Vice President of Risk Management at South Jersey Industries. Ms. Mari-Mazzola will lead a discussion on the positive and influential impact of mentorship in building self-confidence and leadership skills.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion led by Stone Harbor Mayor Suzanne Walters and feature panelists Freeholder Kristine Gabor, Cape May County Clerk Rita Fulginiti, Avalon Councilwoman Nancy Hudanich, and Wildwood Crest Commissioner Joyce Gould. These elected officials will discuss the opportunities and challenges of women in community leadership positions.
