Women In Business Conference March 2 at Flanders Hotel

By Press Release

The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce 11th Annual Women In Business Conference will be held Thursday, March 2 at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City. This year’s conference will focus on the importance for women to be empowered and engaged in the workplace as well as in their communities.
The 2017 conference kicks off at 9 a.m. with Dianna T. Deignan, MD, a doctor with Cape Regional Physicans Associates specializing in family practice. Dr. Deignan will offer tips and strategies developed to assist those with overloaded schedules, activities and responsibilities. Based on surveys conducted by the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, this topic is one of the most concerning to the areas working women.
Maggie Warner of Morey’s Piers will present a case study on volunteerism which will be followed by a panel of local business women representing a variety of solo, small, medium and large scale businesses who are engaged in volunteerism.
Conference attendees will then learn “How To Network Like A Pro” from Andy Zinsmeister, an associate with Dale Carnegie Training of Southern New Jersey. Networking with other business women is one of the primary benefits of attending this conference and this session will help to sharpen those skills.
Cape May County Surrogate, Sue Sheppard also joins the conference program, presenting a session on “The Importance of Having A Will At Any Age.” Having a will in place is one of the most beneficial things that anyone can do for their loved ones, and this session will stress the importance where children, business assets and property is involved.
Anne Maiese from the Cape May County League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government, will share information on the importance of every community member becoming informed on issues concerning the world we live in.
Limited space is available for businesses interested in having a table top display to showcase products to conference attendees.
More information and the conference agenda and registration is available on line at www.capemaycountychamber.com/womeninbusiness. The cost for chamber members is $59 and $89 for all others and includes a networking reception and lunch featuring Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.
