Will Morey Named IAAPA Chairman of the Board

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – Will Morey, President and CEO of Morey’s Piers in the Wildwoods, NJ received a tremendous honor as he was announced to the position of Chairman of the Board for IAAPA, International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, a worldwide trade association.
As Chairman of the Board, Morey will lead IAAPA for the next year and oversee the ongoing development and implementation of the association’s strategic plan. He will travel around the world to represent the association and the global industry.
“This honor comes following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy to amusement facilities and communities along the eastern seaboard of the U.S.,” Morey stated. “My goal is to use this unique opportunity to create greater exposure for the rebuilding effort and aid in coordinating assistance from our domestic and international colleagues.”
The road to the chairmanship spans four years and starts with a one-year assignment starting at the 3rd Vice Chair and elevating to Chairman during the fourth year. IAAPA has approximately 4,300 members in 90 countries and includes recognizable names as the Disney Parks, Six Flags Entertainment, Busch Gardens, Cedar Fair and Merlin Entertainment. The Chairmanship term runs from the opening ceremony held on Tuesday morning of the convention until the passing of the gavel the following year.
Will was preceded by Roland Mack of Germany’s Europa Park and will pass the gavel next November to Mario Mamon from Enchanted Kingdom in the Philippines.
