Wildwoods Launch Smartphone Website For Online Visitors

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) has enhanced their current tourism website at WildwoodsNJ.com to cater to the growing number of Smartphone users looking to surf the web with ease and readability via their mobile devices. The new Wildwoods “Smartsite” is a streamlined version of the original website, with one-touch navigation tools that make it easy to surf on-the-go from a Droid, iPhone, Blackberry or any other Smartphone device.
The mobile version of the website was developed with special features and icons that allow Smartphone web browsers to surf and scroll through information quickly and efficiently via their touch screens. The “Smartsite” targets both potential visitors and those vacationers already enjoying the Wildwoods by incorporating targeted sections of the original website that the “surfer on-the-go” would most likely want to access for more information about what to see and do in the Wildwoods.
These sections include:
Events Calendar –
A day-to-day listing of where and when all of the exciting events are happening in the Wildwoods.
Shopping –
A search tool showing where the best places can be found for any type of shopping needs.
Where to Stay –
Easy access to hotel and motel accommodations throughout Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and North Wildwood.
Where to Eat –
Restaurant locations for any type of craving which can be searched by cuisine type and other criteria.
Fun Things to Do –
Endless information about all of the fun attractions and activities the Wildwoods have to offer.
Contact Form –
To get more information by mail and/or be added to the Wildwoods’ e-mail marketing list.
“We wanted to reach the growing number of potential visitors, as well as visitors already enjoying their Wildwoods vacations, who depend on their Smartphones for instant information about what to do, where to stay, where to eat and more – all while strolling the Boardwalk or traveling down the Garden State Parkway,” said Ben Rose, GWTIDA’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “Because our website address is always a prominent feature on billboards and outdoor displays, it is especially important that Smartphone users be able to plug in that web address and be taken to a site they can easily navigate and use to plan their vacation.”
The Smartphone-friendly website, www.WildwoodsNJ.com, adapts the exciting and colorful look of the main Wildwoods website, but functions more like an “app” with simple and quick navigation options that can be selected by scrolling or tapping the touch screen. Bright colors and a fun flash photo gallery can be found on the main homepage, giving visitors the warm welcome the Wildwoods are known for. The Smartphone website provides browsers the opportunity to have a true virtual experience of the Wildwoods from anywhere.
