Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company Awards Scholarships to 6 High School Graduates

The Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 awarded six $1,500 scholarships to June 2015 high school graduates. The awards were presented to the students after their first semester of college.
Receiving awards were Julia Scott and Nicole Keefe from Cape May County Technical High School, Emily Orlidini and Kevin Laffey from Wildwood Catholic, and Claudia Melchiorre and Benjamin Michael Errickson from Wildwood High School.
The 22nd annual, these scholarships are awarded in memory of Joseph R.Walto, a Lieutenant in our Volunteer Fire Company who died while fighting the Ocean Pier fire on Christmas Day in 1943. The Boardwalk fire leveled 12 apartment houses and over 30 businesses.
