WBID Supports Community Policing Effort in Downtown Wildwood

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – You’ll see them walking and riding bikes. They stop and chat with the people on the streets, at the Farmers Market, Tuesday Night Movies, Fox Park festivals and in Downtown Wildwood businesses. They are the Wildwood Police Officers who are part of a Community Policing effort, partly made possible by a Wildwood Business Improvement District grant.
On Friday, Oct. 6, John Donio, President of the Wildwood Business Improvement District (WBID), awarded a $20,000 check to Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto. When asked about the award, Chief Regalbuto stated, “Having our officers walking and talking to the public in Downtown Wildwood enables us to develop relationships that are not related to criminal activity. It opens the conversation between the police officers and members of the community that fosters safety and trust. The WBID grant certainly helps us with our Community Policing efforts in Downtown Wildwood.” The Wildwood Business Improvement District and the Wildwood Police Department are working together to improve the future in Downtown Wildwood!
