Vince DeSanctis of Cape May Court House Named Volunteer of the Year at Cape Regional Health System

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Vince DeSanctis has been named Cape Regional Health System’s Volunteer of the Year for 2016. The award was presented to Mr. DeSanctis at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday, April 12 at Avalon Links Restaurant. Vince was presented the award by Joanne Carrocino, FACHE, President and CEO, in the presence of more than 200 of the awardee’s peers.
Vince has been volunteering at Cape Regional Medical Center since May 2011 and has received accolades from fellow volunteers and staff for his strong work ethic, dedication and positive attitude. Vince is a Golf Cart Volunteer providing shuttle service to outpatients and visitors to and from the entrances of the Medical Center. Vince is a retired manufacturing representative, and he served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 where he was a Private First Class, stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. Pat DeSanctis, Vince’s wife of nearly 60 years, also volunteers at the Medical Center; the couple has four children and six grandchildren.
The Volunteer of the Year award reflects a volunteer’s extraordinary performance, commitment and representation of service excellence. In April 2015, Vince was recognized as Volunteer of the Quarter; the prior year’s quarterly award recipients were also recognized at the recognition event. When asked what volunteering means to him, Vince offered, “I really get so much out of volunteering; I get more than I give when I volunteer! Thank you so much for this recognition.”
