FOLSOM – United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey recognized South Jersey Industries with two awards for its continued efforts in helping the community.
“As a long-standing corporate partner of United Way, we are honored to receive these distinctions,” said Michael J. Renna, president and CEO. “With United Way, we help give residents the resources they need to become stronger and more independent.”
South Jersey Industries received the Leading the Way and the Investing in Impact awards at United Way’s Community Awards Celebration last month in Atlantic City. The Leading the Way Award recognized contributions by SJI’s leadership and a nearly 20 percent increase in employee donations during the company’s annual Employee Giving Campaign, which raised more than $100,000.
An additional contribution from the company was designated to United Way’s Impact Fund, which supports various nonprofits that focus on improving the education, income, health and basic needs of local communities.
