Art of Gymnastics & Cheer (AOGAC) is Cape May County’s largest dance, gymnastics, contortion, cheerleading and circus arts training center. They boast over 6,800 square feet of training space. AOGAC just celebrated their 20th anniversary with an amazing staff! Their instructors have a very diverse background and offer years of professional experience. Many of the staff have performed and/or worked and studied in their respective fields.
AOGAC has had students perform on the hit TV show “America’s Got Talent” and currently has a five-year team member on a national television dance show. They also have had several students featured on ESPN! To date, Art of Gymnastics & Cheer has more than 13 students cheering on the collegiate level. Five of their alumni are members of the three-time (consecutively) National Collegiate Cheerleading Champions from Wilmington University (several on scholarship for cheerleading/tumbling!).
Two years ago, this amazing training center began competing in artistic gymnastics (equipment gymnastics) through the United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs (USAIGC). With the help from an excellent gymnastics coaching staff, Art of Gymnastics & Cheer won the 2013 USAIGC State Champion on Floor Exercise and the 2014 USAIGC Regional Champion on Floor Exercise! The gymnasts from this facility have also placed on the individual events: uneven bars, vault, balance beam and the all-around event (combined scores on all four events).
This season, AOGAC has added some really incredible classes including a “Disney Dancing” class, an all-boys pre-school gymnastics/fitness class, a “wild card” class (a mix of man disciplines which rotate weekly) and more! AOGAC is well known for its gymnastics and cheerleading, but they offer all forms of dance including tap, classical ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and more. They are the only training center to feature “Circus Arts” which focuses on disciplines seen in the World famous Cirque Du Soleil. These classes encompass: hand balancing, contortion, adagio work, and the ever popular Aerial Fabrics. The center is home to many recreational classes including Parent & Tot class (as young as 9 MONTHS), tiny tots dance/gymnastics combinations, contortion, all boys, cheerleading, power tumbling and even birthday parties!
