WILDWOOD – The Wildwoods have been named ‘Favorite Shore Town’ for the second consecutive year by the readers of Delaware County Daily Times. The Delaware County Daily Times is the local daily newspaper for Delaware County, with a daily circulation of 41,000 and an online readership of 400,000.
“We’re honored to receive this recognition for the second year in a row by the readers of Delaware County Daily Times,” said John Siciliano, Executive Director for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA). “We are thankful that the residents of Delaware County, and the millions of families who come to enjoy all we have to offer, recognize the hard work and determination of the employees and business owners who work hard to make the Wildwoods one of the country’s most popular family vacation destinations,” he added.
Over nine million visitors flock to the Wildwoods every year for New Jersey’s largest – free – beaches. The wide, white-sand beaches stretch for five miles lining the shores of North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. Visitors also come to the Wildwoods for the two-mile long Boardwalk which is renowned for being the most exciting and fun-filled attraction on the East Coast.
There are spectacular amusement piers with over a hundred rides and attractions, world-class roller coasters, interactive waterparks, carnival-style midway games, arcades and a myriad of shops and eateries. Beyond the beach and Boardwalk, visitors to the Wildwoods can find an array of fishing and water-related recreational activities that offer spots for surfing, boogie boarding, and power boating, jet skiing, sailing, and kayaking along with fishing, crabbing and whale watching cruises.
The Wildwoods have also been recognized in 2013 as one of the Most Awesome Boardwalks in America by BudgetTravel.com; the Best Beach and Boardwalk by NJ.com readers; Top Family-Friendly Beach Town by NerdWallet.com; and as One of America’s Top 10 U.S. Tourist Towns by families voting in FamilyFun magazine.
