CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — Commitment, Attitude, Knowledge, Excellence. That’s the recipe to ensure visitors and guests at the Jersey Cape receive superior customer service and have a ‘WOW’ experiences while vacationing in Cape May County.
The Cape May County business community, through partnerships with local and county chambers of commerce along with Atlantic Cape Community College, will offer ‘The Jersey Cape Experience, Serving Dreams in 2016’ customer service training to front line employees from May 24 through June 30 at various locations around Cape May County.
This program will provide four essential ingredients that will have participants thinking, “Service is a piece of CAKE™.” They will learn the perfect recipe for delivering exceptional service: Commitment, Attitude, Knowledge and Excellence. “You only have one opportunity to make a great first impression. Customer service is important in every business, but even more so in the tourism industry which is highly competitive both on the local level as well as globally. Travelers have many, many choices as to where, when and how they spend vacation dollars. Let’s not lose customers by making them feel that we don’t care whether they’re here or not,” said Vicki Clark, President of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce.
According to Clark, “Some businesses have the resources to provide their staff in-house training. However, many small businesses simply can’t afford to, and this program fills that gap. The Jersey Cape Experience, Serving Dreams in 2016 will help workers understand that their guests visit many, many businesses while on vacation in Cape May County, and one bad experience at one place can have them planning to go somewhere else next time even before their vacation is over. The goal of this program is for every visitor to have a WOW experience at every beach, store, boardwalk, attraction and restaurant they visit while vacationing in Cape May County.”
