CLERMONT – It is often said-even less so applied, though-that those willing to adapt to change are the most successful. The quotation remains unattributed but, in keeping with its philosophy of versatility, one local business in Cape May County has rebranded itself to better represent the growing internal changes and those of its customers.
Teaberry … Not Just Antiques, located at 1944 Route 9 in the business district of Clermont, will assume the new title The Marketplace @ Teaberry, a name that reinforces what the store provides: a distinct environment of shopping paradise, the “Teaberry experience,” as it is so affectionately referred to by its customers.
Since opening its doors in Nov. 2005, Teaberry has indeed undergone changes, but from these changes has evolved a progressive growth.
“Teaberry has always been a dynamic store,” says owner Bill Lloyd. “With over sixty vendors and so many one-of-a kind items, the store is actively changing,” added Lloyd.
This rebranding signifies a desire to continually fulfill the needs of the customers as their needs and specific interests change. With an association of vendors numbering more than sixty-five, change for Teaberry was inevitable.
The vendors composing Teaberry are conscious of this continual need to adapt to customer demand, and this awareness is dearly demonstrated in the spaces they maintain regularly. From the auction house to the estate sale, the antique vendors at Teaberry are forever searching for the coveted pieces, for that one piece that will complete your collection, for that piece that was irreplaceable and for the sentimental piece that you remember so fondly as a child. This yesteryear nostalgia is all part of the “experience,” but coupled with this experience are contemporary finds for all kinds.
Offering the latest in handbags from Coach, Rioni and Vera Bradley to a wide selection of costume jewelry, the modem merchandise reflects the latest fashions and trends for all ages. From wrought iron garden furniture to a full inventory of plants and shrubbery, Teaberry has continued to expose themselves to different markets, responding to different customer preferences as necessary. But it is not just the vendors who are responsible for this change.
Perhaps the most influential force behind this change is the staff of Teaberry, namely manager Sharon-Houston Collins, who has transformed Teaberry from a store to a community mainstay.
“Shopping,” Houston-Collins says, “is a social experience, not an activity done alone in front of a computer.”
The social experience includes promotional events such as seasonal outdoor bazaars, food demonstrations, raffles, giveaways, and storewide sales.
The Marketplace @ Teaberry is conveniently located on Rt 9 in Clermont, (next to Cape May Wicker) and is definitely worth the trip. Grab a fresh Bagel and a cup of coffee at the Avalon Coffee and Bagel franchise located in Teaberry and stroll the aisles!
