Susan Guilliams, RN, Honored with Cape Regional’s DAISY Award for the Fourth Quarter of 2016

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Susan Guilliams, Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, is Cape Regional’s DAISY Award honoree for the fourth quarter of 2016. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day. Cape Regional Health System is proud to be a DAISY Award Partner, recognizing caring and compassionate nurses quarterly with this special honor.
“On behalf of the entire Emergency Department, I would like to nominate Susan Guilliams, RN for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Sue has been a member of the Cape Regional team for the past 40 years and has held multiple positions and responsibilities during that time. She has been a preceptor to countless new employees as well as a resource to multiple others. She epitomizes the definition of “extraordinary nurse” and has a genuine heart for her patients. As the director of this department for the past five years, I have benefited from the foundation she and other previous leaders have put in to place. Sue’s commitment to excellence and desire to excel in providing the highest-quality care for our community have been manifested in policies, educational offerings, requirements for certifications above and beyond other similar facilities, as well as a commitment to each patient who comes through our doors. This culture permeates everything we do and she is a big reason why it is present. While many nurses possess many of the characteristics needed to be eligible for this honor, few have done it as consistently and for the same duration as Sue. What a wonderful example of one worthy of this honor,” stated Mary Osler, RN, MSN, CEN, Director, Emergency Department.
