CAPE MAY – Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum recently received a financial contribution from Sturdy Savings Bank to support the museum’s expanding Aviation Education Program. In 2013, NASW operated two youth summer camps along with customized youth and adult educational field trips and tours. The museum will use the funds in conjunction with NASW resources to continue and further develop this unique educational platform. The purpose of the Aviation Education Program is to provide students with a comprehensive, curriculum-based variety of interactive activities to stimulate interest in history, science, technology, engineering, math and aviation-related careers. The museum’s Aviation Education Program has been integrated with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content to maximize learning for all students, including those who are economically disadvantaged.
NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum boasts over 26 aircraft displays as well as exhibits of military memorabilia, an air traffic control tower, engines, photographs, interactive exhibits that allow visitors to discover the science of flight and more. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
