Steve Steger of Cape May, shown here in the Carroll Gallery at the Carriage House of the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., Cape May, is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for February 2017. Steve is a lifelong, fourth generation resident of Cape May and a dedicated member of the community and various organizations. He is an energetic entrepreneur who oversees business operations for Steger Beach Service, Inc., established in 1933, and Cape May Contracting, Inc., established in 2013. He is one of the MAC Board’s newest trustees. He has been offering his talents and making a mark in the organization for many months prior to his board appointment, by serving with staff and board members on MAC’s Marketing Strategies Team and by helping organize MAC’s After Hours Business Mixer at the Carriage House Café & Tearoom this past fall, which helped make it a great success.
“Steve has made a real difference to the MAC organization,” said Mary Stewart, MAC’s Chief Outreach Strategist, who nominated him for the honor. “He has been very generous with his time and talents, offering his astute business acumen and drawing on his connectedness in the business community, all in support of our mission to further the cultural enrichment of Cape May. He has been a great asset. We are very grateful to him for his time, his talents and his commitment.”
The Volunteer of the Month award is given to a person who demonstrates a high degree of dedication, commitment and constancy to MAC’s volunteer program.
