Sports Collector Dreams Big

By Sponsored Content

Rich Layton’s love for baseball cards began when he was 7 years old.
Like a lot of youngsters, as time passed he stopped collecting. But his interest was re-sparked when his wife bought him a box of cards.
He opened Layton Sports Cards in September 2012 as an online business doing “Case Breaks.” What is a case break?
Start with MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL sports cards made by the industry’s leading manufacturers such as Topps and Panini.
In a case of cards are unopened boxes and packs of cards. Besides base cards, you have a chance at getting player autographs as well as pieces of game-used jerseys.
What Layton Sports Cards does is sell by the team. For example, one person would by the Phillies; another the Yankees. Then, when all teams are sold out, they broadcast on BlogTV.com and open the case live for all participants to see.
The breaks are also recorded and uploaded to YouTube. Then the cards are shipped to the participants.
Although you do not know what is going to come out of the case, you have a chance at getting some very rare and expensive cards.
Layton’s online popularity has grown so rapidly, they had to move the business out of the house. Therefore, they decided to open the retail storefront.
Fulfilling Layton’s lifelong dream, Layton Sports Cards opened their doors to the public in December, and they are now one of the leading case breaking companies anywhere on the internet.
They have been invited to the Sports Card Industry Summit in Las Vegas to discuss case breaking with the leading manufacturers and dignitaries within the industry.
Layton Sports Cards will have a “Grand Opening” Feb. 16-17 and are giving away a Family Four-Pack of Philadelphia Sixers Tickets.
Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Unit 5 of the Breakwater Plaza, 3305 Bayshore Rd., North Cape May, they carry singles, boxes, cases, supplies, Fat Heads, Beckett Magazines, and more.
