RIO GRANDE — Jim Johnson, owner of Sound Advice and Video, 1304 Route 47 South and 336 96th St., Stone Harbor, beamed as he stood with Matthew Cropper, 11, of Court House, between two Kawasaki bikes that he agreed to sponsor.
Cropper is a pupil at Bishop McHugh Regional School, and the son of Allen and Cheryl Cropper. They are a family that enjoys the cycling events that have propelled Matthew into fourth ranking among riders in the 10-11 year-old class in Northeast Off Road Championship, an organization based in Port Elizabeth.
Matthew is rider No. 98, and has raced in events in Pennsylvania and Maryland as well as one in Cedarville.
Matthew’s father said Johnson’s sponsorship means the Sound Advice name will be placed on the trailer that carries the Kawasaki KX65 and KLX110 series motorcycles to events.
It will also mean specially printed T-shirts that will carry the store’s logo and message far and wide.
Those interested in learning more about the racers and the events in which they participate can visit the Web site:
